In the never-ending quest to attract a younger audience to casinos, MGM Resorts has announced that a former nightclub at the Luxor in vegas will reopen as an esports arena.
The Luxor is remodeling its nightclub that is now-defunct LAX an esports arena. The target is to pull in a younger demographic, not as enchanted by traditional slot machines as their parents.
The business has entered into a deal with Allied Esports and Esports Arena to develop a dedicated venue for gamers at the now closed LAX nightclub. The 30,000-square-foot space will have multi-level arena filled with competition stage, LED video clip wall, telescopic seating, day-to-day gaming stations, a customized food and beverage providing, and a state-of-the-art streaming and television-quality manufacturing studio.
Niklas Rytterstrom, general manager of Luxor, believes that esports could be the future and will be one of many more popular features at the Strip hotel, when it is completed in June 2018.
